Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develops, executes, and maintains a comprehensive global supplier quality strategy with emphasis on supplier development, product quality and supports cost control, availability, and delivery.
  • Acts as liaison among LHMC and the supply base to resolve complex quality issues and to provide organizational resource allocation.
  • Ensures the organization’s strategic objectives and plans which have been set are being delivered by developing and continually assessing key performance measures.
  • Establishes continuous improvement and strategic initiatives targeting supplier development and advanced problem solving while setting goals and priorities for the supplier quality organization.
  • Monitors supplier performance and report results to senior leadership.
  • Develops and maintains an effective team who demonstrates effective communication, cooperation, critical thinking, project management, quality systems and improvement techniques. Manages performance, provides constructive and respectful feedback to encourage and enable performance excellence. Lead by example.
  • Evaluates team performance versus annual objectives; mentors and assists employees in achieving goals and objectives.
  • Leads the category-based Supplier Quality Engineers to provide as required supplier development and advanced problem-solving support for targeted suppliers.
  • Works with Global Sourcing to assess potential supply base prior to source selection.
  • Oversees launch of revised/new product using APQP with selected future product supplier. Assist supplier with implementation of APQP deliverables as required.
  • Ensures required supplier quality documentation is organized and retained according to corporate guidelines. Supports continual improvement of supplier control plans.
  • Supports investigation of supplier quality problems and coordinates implementation of effective and timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with global teams to drive resolution of quality issues.
  • Engage in Quality planning: design review, design for manufacturability, assembly, etc., control plans, FMEA, work instructions, measurement systems design and analysis, process validation.
  • Reduce supplier caused production interruptions while working remotely in a global cross-functional team environment.
  • Manages Finishing and Compliance as a part of the Quality organization.
  • Ability to oversee several simultaneous projects with the proper delegating skills and the precise amount of involvement without interference, allowing the specifically designated personnel to perform their tasks.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Additional Required Candidate Qualifications & Skills:

  • Driven self-starter with the ability to be self-directed
  • 7 or more years of experience in the Quality or Engineering
  • 3 or more years of direct supervision experience.
  • Flexible, motivated and capable of making changes to improve and sustain functional proficiency while adapting to changing business and customer needs
  • Working experience in a manufacturing or assembly setting
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 35%
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Additional Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

  • Certified Quality Analyst (CQA)
  • ASQ certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
