The Compliance Specialist identifies operational areas or processes which expose the company to the risk of fines or other penalties and seeks to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of those areas or processes while balancing customer requirements against company strategies and goals. This includes researching specific instances of alleged non-compliance and providing documentation to contest such allegations as well as process improvement work designed to increase compliance with maximal efficiency. The Specialist also reviews pricing, initiates and implements cross functional actions to improve pricing accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely entry of Supplier Cost, Customer Pricing and workflow in STEP as it relates to Finance.
  • Reports on company’s compliance in accordance with customer requirements in areas of order processing, shipping, billing, etc.
  • Investigates and contests fines levied by customers for performance that does not meet customer standards.
  • Reviews customer score cards and analyzes root causes of performance levels that fall beneath customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoots substandard customer scorecard metrics and recommends policy and procedure changes.
  • Examine and document manual pricing override reports to ensure correct internal control procedures.
  • Works as a team in regards to Supplier Cost and Customer Pricing. Backs up Data Integrity Analyst.
  • Confirms that proper approvals have been provided for both Supplier Cost updates and Customer Pricing requests.
  • Able to utilize both mass load functionality and manual entry for both Supplier Cost updates and for Customer Pricing.
  • Audits Supplier Cost entries and Customer Pricing entries and makes necessary updates prior to confirming completion of updates to the requester.
  • Participates in cross-functional process improvement to improve pricing accuracy & reduce non contractual customer deductions.
  • Learns, understands, and appropriately documents processes used to meet customer requirements and collaborates with other functional areas to design changes to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Consistently delivers bottom-line results through both formal and informal channels.
  • Demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset – through participation in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the business.

Education Requirements:

  • Four year college degree from an accredited program, preferably in a business discipline such as Finance preferred; or equivalent combination of education and 10 years work experience required.
  • Skilled in MS Word, Excel. Aptitude for data analysis and ability to perform system trouble shooting. Flexibility and steadfastness to handle lengthy data projects while maintaining daily job requirements.
  • Manhattan and One World experience is a plus.
